South American Crime Group Targets High-End Homes: Northville Township on Alert

by | Apr 19, 2024

The Northville Township community is on high alert as local police have issued warnings about a South American organized crime group specifically targeting high-end homes across Northville Township and the greater metro Detroit area. Deputy Chief of Police Matthew MacKenzie detailed that an alarming pattern has been identified in at least five home invasions over the past year, marking a concerning rise in such criminal activities. The criminals, operating in teams of three to four, have been observed parking on side streets before forcibly entering homes to pilfer cash, jewelry, and other valuable possessions.

Authorities have yet to confirm if occupants were home during these incidents, however, the modus operandi suggests a highly organized and efficient operation emphasizing stealth and quick escapes. Deputy Chief MacKenzie expressed deep concern over these developments, urging the community to stay vigilant and proactive in reporting any suspicious behavior immediately. “The safety and security of our residents are our top priorities,” he emphasized, indicating an uptick in police patrols and the introduction of surveillance measures aimed at deterring further incidents and protecting the community.

In response to the recent spate of break-ins, the Northville Township Police Department is not only beefing up its surveillance and patrols but also actively engaging the community to take preventive steps. Residents are encouraged to secure their homes by locking all possible entry points, make homes appear occupied by using lights, refrain from social media posts about being away, and report any suspicious activities without delay. These measures, combined with increased police vigilance, are aimed at creating a fortified community defense against potential future invasions.

The Northville Township Police Department reiterates the importance of community alertness and participation in maintaining neighborhood safety. Residents are urged to contact 911 or the Northville Township Police Department directly at 248-349-9400 with any pertinent information or in cases of emergency. Furthermore, the community is encouraged to stay updated on local news and advisories, emphasizing the collective role in ensuring the safety and security of Northville Township. “Together, we can make a significant impact in deterring crime and keeping our community safe,” concludes Deputy Chief MacKenzie, reflecting the spirit of unity and vigilance against crime in Northville Township.
